Dreamfeather privacy policy
Last updated: 24 October 2026
Dreamfeather is made by Carlos Oliveira, hello@dreamfeather.app. This policy covers the Dreamfeather Android app.
The short version
Dreamfeather does not collect, store or share any of your data on any server. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Everything you enter stays on your phone.
What the app stores, and where
The app stores the following only on your phone, in its private storage:
- sleep sessions you record (start and end times, pauses, quality, notes, technique),
- dream journal entries (text, feelings, tags, recall, lucid and nightmare flags),
- reality-check history and your alarm and app settings.
None of this is sent to the developer or to anyone else. Android’s cloud backup is turned off for this app.
When data leaves your phone
Only when you choose it:
- Backup and journal export. When you export a backup or your journal, the app writes a file to the place you pick. What happens to that file afterwards is up to you.
- Health Connect. If you connect Health Connect, the app reads and writes sleep sessions and sleep stages through Health Connect on your phone, only when you import or finish a night. The app requests no other health data. Data read from Health Connect is used only to show your sleep history in the app and is not shared. Dreamfeather’s use of information received from Health Connect adheres to the Health Connect Permissions policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
- Speech. Dictating a dream opens an installed speech recognition app, and guided audio uses your phone’s text-to-speech engine. The speech app handles microphone access. Depending on the provider and its settings, audio or text may be processed online under that provider’s own privacy terms. Dreamfeather does not record or store audio.
Purchases
The lifetime unlock is sold through Google Play. Google processes the payment under its own privacy policy. The app only receives confirmation that the unlock was bought; it never sees your payment details.
Permissions
Notifications (alarms, reality checks, the morning reminder), exact alarms and full-screen alarms (so alarms ring on time), and Health Connect sleep access (only if you connect it). Fingerprint or face unlock is handled entirely by Android when you turn on the app lock; the app never sees biometric data.
Deleting your data
Settings → Delete all data removes everything the app has stored. Uninstalling the app does the same. Data you exported to files or Health Connect is managed where you put it.
Children
Dreamfeather is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with a new date.
